BARAMULLA: An
Educational cum Motivational Tour comprising 25 students of St Joseph’s
Higher Secondary School, Baramula was conducted from 01 Feb 2012 to 17
Feb 2012 by 46 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion (SIKH). The tour provided an
opportunity to appreciate the harmonial co-existence amongst the people
from different religions in various parts of India. It has helped the
children from
Baramula District to see for themselves, the development activities
that are ongoing and the manner in which peace has helped different
regions of India to develop and prosper.
Safar
- e - Taleem was flagged off on 01 Feb 2012. The youth of Baramulla
commenced their long voyage on 01 Feb 2012, by a deluxe bus and
transited through various historical cities of India to include
Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Delhi and Agra over a fortnight.
The tour culminated on 17 Feb 2012.
All the students who undertook the
glorious tour were present at the grand occasion, alongwith their
parents, Principal and teachers
of the school. The General Officer Commanding Dagger Division addressed
the august gathering and flagged in the national integration tour. The
participants were smartly dressed in appropriately fitting deep blue
track suits and appeared exuberant after having undertaken this exciting
tour.
The
incredible tour endowed the students with an opportunity to visit many
important places in the country, having immense historical and cultural
significance, such as Golden Temple, Sukhna Lake, Rock Garden, Lal Kila,
Parade Ground, Jamia Masjid, Fatehpur Sikri and Taj Mahal to name a
few. It also gave an impetus to winning
the hearts and minds of Awam by generating goodwill for the security
forces amongst the local populace of the entire Baramulla Region.
The
most thrilling part of the trip for the students was a short but a
memorable visit to the Wagha Border and Rashtrapati Bhawan during their
stop-over at Amritsar and Delhi respectively.
