BANDIPURA SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (ATHROUT) VISITS VODAFONE CALL CENTRE SRINAGAR

BANDIPORA: Skill Development Programme, “ATHROUT” (HELPING HANDS) is being run under Indian Army Sadhbhavana and Dr Reddy’s Foundation at ITI Bandipura since 16 Dec 2011. Training is being imparted in three domains i.e. ITES (Information Tech Enabling Services), CRS (Customer Relations and Sales/ Retail)   and Hospitality.  A total of 80 unemployed graduates of Bandipura are attending the programme.
 
As a part of imparting practical training to students and to give them exposure on the professional working culture of BPO’s, 45 student aspirants (24 x students of CRS domain and 21 students of ITES) were taken on a visit to Vodafone call centre, Srinagar on 14 Feb 2012.  At the BPO, Core Head of operations Mr Mujtaba welcomed the aspirants and introduced the students to the history of Vodafone, safety rules and regulation of the company and access control method. 

After the initial briefing the students were escorted to floor where they were introduced to function of Call Center System and process of attending the call. Then after, the team Leader’s took over from Mr Musthtafa and explained them about the processing of data and calls rate at ground level. Operation Head, Impatias also briefed the students about receipt of calls from various states and call processing. He also acquainted the students with the man management system i.e. working in shifts and breaks in shifts.
 
The students were enthralled with the briefing of BPO professionals as they returned highly motivated and eager to join BPO industry on termination of training.
