KALAKOTE: Gujjar and Bakkarwal Jirga was organised at Kalakote by a
Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of the Counter Insurgency Force
(Uniform) at Mohugala on 22 Feb 2012.
350 people from Gujjar
and Bakkarwal community attended the function.
Medical assistance along with free medicines and lunch were also
provided on the occasion, many eminent personalities from civil administration
graced the rally.
The grievances of the
community were also heard and solutions were provided. Mr. Shahid Iqbal, IAS, SDM Naoshera, Koushal
Kumar Sharma , ASP Naoshera, Mr, KD Bhagat, SHO Kalakote attended the function
and appreciated the efforts of the Army for providing a common platform for
interaction between govt officials & people staying in far flung
areas.
Many prominent personalities of
this communities were honoured for their contribution towards bringing normalcy
to the area once infested with militancy.
The jirga reiterated its commitment to fight against anti national
elements and ensure the growth and prosperity of its community in particular
and the region in general.
