Army sends students on educational tour


KISHTAWR: 23 Students accompanied by 02 teachers from Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir were flagged in by Commander of Headquarter Sector Rashtriya Rifles after a ten days  education cum motivational tour of Delhi, Agra and Chandigarh.  The educational tour was organised by Rashtriya Rifles in Kishtwar for children of Chhatru region from 12 to 21 February 2012 under Op Sadbhavana.

As part of the educational tour, the children were taken to Chandigarh, Delhi and Arga.  During the tour, the children visited a number of places of educational, cultural, religious, historical and tourist importance in different parts of the country at Chandigarh-Delhi-Agra which was a new experience for them.  
 
These included visits to Rock Garden, Pinjor Garden, Sukhna Lake, Rose Garden, Mohali Stadium and Rajbhavan at Chandigarh, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Metro Ride at Delhi, India Gate, Rail Museum, Mugal Garden, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament House (North & South Block), Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple and Cannaut Place in Delhi.  They also visited Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Taj Ganj and historical place Fatehpur Sikriduring their visit at Agra. They also interacted with senior civil and military dignitaries during the visit.

During the flagging in ceremony, the Commander, Headquarter Sector Rashtriya Rifles congratulated them and expressed the hope that the tour would have given the children an opportunity to see for themselves, how peace and tranquility in other parts of the country had ushered in prosperity.  

He hoped that the children would have brought back the rich experience and would spread the message of peace and harmony in their own little way amongst their family, friends and relatives in their villages.   “The chain of compassion extends to the very heart of our democracy and there is nothing that we will not do to restore peace” the commander emphasized.  He also complimented the tour organising team and the teachers Shri Shambhu Nath Manhas & Shri Khursheed Ahmed for the excellent conduct of the tour.
