RAJOURI: A talk on drug addiction &
rehabilitation was organised by Manjakote based Rashtriya Rifles Battalion
under the aegis of Headquarters Counter Insurgency Force, Romeo at Higher
Secondary School, Manjakote. A large number of elders and youth from remote
& far flung areas, and school children from nearby schools alongwith
prominent personalities of the area including Mr Talib Husain, Sarpanch,
Mr Nazir, Nb Tehsildar, Mr
Sarveshwa Singh, SHO Manjakote attended the function.
The function was inaugurated by commanding officer Manjakote, Rashtriya
Rifles battalion who re emphasized the importance of healthy life style. With
the help of information pamphlets, pictorial & graphical presentations a
lecture cum discussion was conducted by Regimental Medical Officer who dwelled
upon the importance of being aware of the deleterious effects of drug addictions
and how can one recover from the same. A questionnaire was given to the
audience before and after the lecture to assess the impact of the lecture and
it brought out the myths and misconceptions among the locals which were cleared
during the lecture.
Audience present during the function also praised the army for their
efforts to impart knowledge regarding less know entity like drug addiction
amongst the locals. One of the youth Mr
Abrar Quadir said that the lecture helped him to
clarify many of his doubts & myths.
Such event will further embolden the growing bond between army &
locals, for the better future for this region.
