BAROROH:
Village Bararoh near
the Line of Control wore a festive and colorful look with thousands of
residents of neighboring villages thronging the camp site on the occasion of a Medical and Veterinary Camp organized under
the aegis of a unit of BAWAN Brigade on
20 Jan 12. A free Medical and Veterinary Camp was organized under
OP SADHBHAVNA to meet the long outstanding demand of locals of the area near the
Line of Control in Akhnoor region.
Army
medical teams including Dental and Veterinary
specialists as well as Eye and Skin specialist and other doctors from civil
administration rendered medical care. Medical aid in the form of free
medicines, consultations, ante-natal facilities and counseling regarding HIV,
family planning etc were also extended. A Mobile Dental chair was established
to provide Dental Care and Oral hygiene.
The Medical and
Veterinary camp was inaugurated by Maj
Gen NPS Hira, General Officer Commanding, Crossed Sword Division. The aim
of the camp was to provide medical assistance to the civilian population
residing in remote areas along the Line of Control and also bring to their door
step the veterinary support for their cattle. The endeavor to identify disabled
persons and cater for their well being by providing wheel chairs, hearing aids
and spectacles received appreciation from all quarters. The transportation of
the patients from far flung areas was also catered for by the Army.
The camp received an
overwhelming response from the local population including women and children
who visited the camp in strength till evening. People expressed their
appreciation for the initiative taken by the Crossed Swords Division.
