KUPWARA: In order to give exposure of shining India to the elders of the backward areas of Magam, Nagri, Kandi, Keegam and Drugmulla of Kupwara District, 47 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion (BIHAR) under
the aegis of Headquarters 8 Sector Rashtriya Rifles/Kilo Force is
organizing a twelve days Bharat Darshan tour under Sadbhavna.
The
‘Watan-Ki-Sair’ will visit important places like Agro Farm and Dairy Farm at Karnal, Haryana Agriculture University, Stud Farm and Cattle Development Centre etc at Hissar for upgrading their knowledge about agriculture and animal husbandry and thereafter return back to the valley. A total of 34 senior citizens from the Kandi and Lolab Bowl are participating
in this tour.
The tour was flagged off by Lieutenant Colonel Sajjan Parkash of 47 Rashtriya Rifles (BIHAR) from Chak Kigam on 06 December 2011 at 1000 hours
wherein various prominent civilians and local dignitaries were also
present.
While interacting with the senior citizens during the flag off
ceremony the senior citizens were reminded of the great nation they
belong to.
They were encouraged to work hard and spread the message of
peace, harmony and brotherhood on this tour and also gather knowledge about their basic occupation.
The
tour will bring about a great deal of awareness amongst the senior
citizens of Kashmir about the cultural and regional diversity alongside
the unique harmony that binds this great
nation.
