GOC CHINAR CORPS FELICITATES STUDENTS OF “ATHROUT” AT BANDIPORE

BANDIPORE: “Bhanware ki gunjan hai mera dil,kab se samhale rakha hai dil” the melodious song of movie Kal Aaj aur Kal played by the Bandipore Rocksatar the musical band at Harmukh College of Education to welcome GOC Chinar Corps, Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain and all the Sarpanches of Bandipore, mystified the whole enviorment and grabbed the attention towards the the group.
 
Gen Hasnain along with GOC Kilo Force Maj Gen Ravi Thodge, Mrs Manju Thodge, Brig Anil Puri, CdrBandiporeBrigade and the DC, Bandipore were present on the occasion to felicitate the students of Skill Development Programme ‘Authrout’ (helping hands) by confering them with certificate of participation.  The program was being run by Dr Reddy’s Foundation under the ageis of Army and the Civil Administration in Bandipore. The first batch of 27 students  were sent to Delhi for their interviews by Dr Reddy’s Foundation on 19 Feb. General Hasnain flagged off the second batch of 17 students who left Bandipore on Friday for their interviews in Delhi.  
 
While interacting with the female students, Mrs Thodge motivated them to aspire for more and better opportunities in life. Brig Anil Puri, Commander 81 Mountain Brigade thanked DC Bandipore and SP Bandipore for their active support in making‘Athrout’ a success.  He also informed that the interviews for the second batch of Skill Development were complete and the same would commence from the 10th of this month in which the focus group will be 10th class dropouts and 12th class dropouts. This programme is to be run byIL & FS under the State run intiative called “Himayat”. This is the first time in the state that the Administration and the “Himayat” Team has come together to take the programme to the grassroot level through the “ Youth Employment Guidance Nodes”.
 
General Hasnain congratulated  the students on completion of the course and at becoming ready for a new phase in life.  Addessing the gathering which included sarpanches of various villages of Bandipore District, he said that the valley is going through a change and the smiling faces of youth and elders is a proof of this positive change.  He also assured that the Army is always ready to provide every possible help which can make the valley more peaceful and prosporeous
 
DC Bandipore Jenab Manzoor Ahmed Lone emphasised on the importance of skill development training and advised the students that one has to struggle if one has to succeed in life.  He also guided the students on the importance of making a start without being bogged down by the start, big or small. Jenab Usman Majid,Ex MLA Bandipore also thanked the Army for taking up this new initiative for the betterment of youth of Bandipore and involving Civil Administration, the polity and Police department with them for making  it effective and sucessful. 
 
The sarpanch of Bunakot, Mr Bashir said that it is only thanks to these kind of programmes that the youth will get a new lease of life.
