ARMY ORGANISES EX SERVICEMEN RALLY AT BUNA DEVSAR

KULGAM: An Ex-servicemen rally was organised at Buna Devsar in Kulgam on 11 Mar 2012 for retired Army personnel and widows of Army personnel (Veer Naris), of districts Kulgam, Anantnag and Shopiyan. The rally was organised to address their issues of interest including grievances redressal, benefits of ECHS, 6^th Pay Commission emoluments and spreading awareness about schemes offered by the State and Central Governments. A large number of Ex-servicemen and Veer Naris attended this rally orgainsed by Victor Force. 

A number of stalls were established to address the grievances and to disseminate latest information on the various policies of State and Central Governments. These stalls were set up by Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme, Record Office Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Centre, Defence Pension Disbursing Office Srinagar, District Soldier Welfare Board Srinagar, SBI & J&K Banks and Civil Administration of Kulgam district. Medical assistance was also provided to the ESMs at a medical camp established by the Army on the occasion.

 

Addressing the gathering, Commander, 2 Sector Rashtriya Rifles informed that such rallies are a means of honouring the Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris and expressing genuine gratitude towards the services rendered by them to the nation. He also assured them of full support of Army in addressing their problems by approaching various agencies including Civil Administration and by organizing more such rallies in future.
