Army organizes ex-servicemen rally in Kulgam

SRINAGAR:  Army on Sunday organized ex-servicemen rally Wuzur Kulgam. According to a defence communiqué the Rally was aimed to address the issues of interest to the ex-servicemen including redressal of their grievances and benefits of ECHS. “The rally also provided a platform to project their issues and act as a window to address their genuine concerns. Approximately 250 ESM attended the event,” it added.

The Commander, 2 Sector Rashtriya Rifles addressed the gathering and complimented the ex-servicemen for their over whelming response. The Commander also urged the ex-servicemen to desire maximum benefit from the rally since the rally has been organized only for them with the basic aim to resolve their problems and to keep them abreast with the recent schemes/policies being issued by various government agencies for their welfare.

“Counters were established to address the grievances and problems of ex-servicemen and to disseminate latest updated information on the various policies of state and central governments affecting the ex-servicemen. These counters included ECHS (Ex- servicemen Contributory Health Scheme) counter, record office JAK LI Regimental Centre counter, DPDO (Defence Pension Disbursing Officer) counter, District Soldier Welfare Board counter, Bank counter and Civil Administration counter.  

Representatives of all the agencies were present on the occasion and helped the Ex- servicemen in resolving their problems. All Ex- servicemen were also provided with Medical and CSD facilities,” the statement added.
