MAR 2012, a Medical Camp was organized by 8 RASHTRIYA RIFLES (MADRAS)
for the people of the Dhara village of Doda District to provide
quality medical diagnosis as well as ‘at the doorstep’ treatment to the
locals.
To achieve the objective of the program the team of the Rashtriya
Rifles Battalion included four Army Doctors having specialization in various
fields along with a specialist lady doctor (gynecologist) and four Nursing
Assistants.
Nearly
375 villagers were examined by and large quantity of good quality
medicines were distributed at the camp. The beneficiaries largely included
elderly people, women and children.8 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion has taken up
special drive to provide health care to the villagers of remote localities.
Under this drive the Battalion is conducting a series of medical camps for the
benefit of civilians of the area. The camps are also being conducted even at
the upper mountain reaches in summers for Gujjars and Bakarwals.
