POONCH: In keeping up with its policy of
empowering the young generation of Jammu and Kashmir, a Rashtriya Rifles
Battalion under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force Romeo organised a fifteen
day education tour to Mumbai,
Pune and Belgaum for twenty five youths. The aim of the tour is to provide
valuable exposure to the rich cultural heritage and all round development
taking place in the country and acquaint them with varied culture and
people.
The tour intends to instill
a sense of awareness amongst the youth.
These youth hail from remote and far flung villages around Kalai and
Surankot in Poonch district and represent all communities and social strata.
The high point of tour would be interaction with Governor of Maharashtra besides visiting all the historical and
important places at Mumbai and then visiting National Defence Academy and Army
Sports Institute at Pune and Commando School Belgaum.

Sector Rashtriya Rifles Sector flagged off the tour from
Kalai today amidst large gathering comprising of youths, parents and prominent civil administration officials.
While speaking to the media the Commander said that this tour shall be an eye
opener for youth and it will immensely benefit them in understanding the varied
culture and heritage of our nation.

Iqbal aged 17 years and resident of Haveli village
while speaking to media told that he is quite excited about the tour as he
would be visiting National Defence Academy, Pune an institution he himself is
appearing for exams to get admission into the institution. Ishal
Ahmed aged 18 years and resident of Arai Mandi told that he aims to get
admission into Army Sports Institute which sponsors budding athletes and
prepare them to take part in national and international events and bring laurels
to nation in sports arena.
