FAUJI MELA IN MENDHAR

MENDHAR: The Mendhar Battalion under the aegis of Bhimber Gali Brigade organized an Army Mela at OP Hill Stadium, Mendhar. This mega event was held to honor the ex-servicemen of the region and for the local populace to create awareness about the Army.

The event was inaugurated by the Commander, BG Brigade.  Large number of Army officers and civil dignitaries were present on the occasion. The celebration was resplendent with patriotic fervor.

Major R Thakur (Retd) Director District Soldier Board Rajouri addressed the ex-servicemen and briefed them on their entitlements.

A number of stalls were also established by various agencies of army and civil administration with an aim to spread awareness among the local population about the recruitment procedures, education facilities and information about the various welfare schemes of the army and civil administration.

The local population came out in large numbers and were mesmerised on witnessing a wide continuum of thrilling events. To add colour to the event, a cultural show was organized by school children of the local schools
