MOTOR VEH MECHANIC COURSE AT DODA

DODA: A Motor Veh Mechanic Course for a duration of 60 days was conducted by  Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Headquarter Sector Rashtriya Rifles at Doda under “OPERATION SADBHAVANA”. The course was conducted for 30 local unemployed youth residing in the Area of Responsibility of Rashtriya Rifles Battalion to enable them to pursue self employment.

The course saw an overwhelming response from local youth and civil administration. The syllabus of the course covered basic knowledge of the various parts of the engine and gear box, brake and steering system, suspension system, cooling system etc. General and specific problems occurring in an engine and their repairs were also covered as part of the practical syllabus.

The chief guest of the event held to mark the culmination of the course was Commander, Sector Rashtriya Rifles, Mr Farooq Ahmed Khan (KAS), Deputy Commissioner, Doda, Mr Mohd Arif Rishoo, SSP Doda, Mr YR Thusoo, Chief Education Officer and Mr DC Katoch, GM DIC and Deputy Director Employment Officer Doda also attended the event. The Chief Guest addressed the youth and urged them to utilize the knowledge gained during the course for generating self employment.  

He also congratulated them on the successful completion of this course and apprised them about the various employment generation schemes being planned by Army for welfare of local youth including driving classes, computer literacy programmes, mobile repairing, welding classes, animal husbandry etc.  He reiterated that the Army has been a front runner in providing welfare and development schemes for the locals of Doda region. He advised the youth to stay away from negative influences and strive hard towards self improvement as they are the future of this region as well as the country.
