ARMY ORGANISES MEGA MEDICAL CAMP AT OLD TOWN BARAMULA

BARAMULLA: In order to provide free medical care to the population of Old Town, Baramula, a free Mega Medical Camp under the aegis of Dagger Formation was organised by the Army at Old town on 19 Feb 2012.  There were a total of four doctors present in the camp including one Lady Medical Officer, one Dental Officer and two Medical Officers.  
 
The camp witnessed a huge influx of patients from all parts of Old Town.  A large number of patients including male, Female and children received free medical and dental care alongwith free medicines. During the camp eighty blankets were also distributed to the needy people. The people of Old Town were highly appreciative of this effort of the Army as Old Town has always been deprived of even the basic healthcare facilities and the population is afflicted with various diseases.  
 
On the occasion, a specially modified Honda Activa Scooter was also presented to a handicapped person Mr Ab Rashid Wasil S/o Ghulam Mohi-ud-din, resident of Quazi Hamam, Baramula by General Officer Commanding, 19 Infantry Division.  Mr Wasil had sustained injury 15 years back which resulted in amputation of his left leg.  46 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion (SIKH) has continued its quest to provide succour to needy people.  During the camp a joint venture to eradicate polio was also undertaken with the District Administration providing polio drops to all children below five years of age.
