AKHNOOR: Army unit under Nagrota
based Headquarters provided furniture and Study material to Government Middle
School, Chandian and Government Primary School, Pullianwala(Malpur) under
Operation Sadbhavana on 19 Jan 2012.
The furniture was provided with an aim to
reach out to the locals and for the betterment of education facilities for
school going children of Malpur area (Akhnoor).
Representatives from the education department, civil administration,
village sarpanch alongwith the large number of villagers were present during
the handing over function.
The schools were provided
with desks, school bags and fans apart from study material for distribution to
the needy children. The school
authorities and villagers thanked the Army for having helped in the upkeep of
the infrastructure of the schools and expressed their gratitude for provision
of infrastructure for the schools.
The Commanding Officer of
the unit interacted with the children and the locals on the occasion and
assured them of all possible assistance in future also.
