EDUCATIONAL CUM MOTIVATIONAL TOUR FLAGGED OFF

POONCH: Carrying forward the spirit of ‘Op Sadbhavana’ to undertake projects, the Indian Army reaches out to the common people of the far-flung areas, 27 MADRAS under the aegis of Poonch Brigade organized Educational / Motivational Tour for school students of Poonch to Coimbatore, Ooty, Trivandrum and Kanyakumari.

 

The tour was ‘Flagged off’ by Brigadier M K Mago, Sena Medal, Commander Poonch Brigade on 07 Jan 2012. The tour comprising of 18 students and 02 teachers and conducting staff of 27 MADRAS will be conducted for 10 days. This motivational tour is a composite package in which the students will get an opportunity to visit places of interest in Coimbatore, Ooty, Trivandrum and Kanyakumari.  They will receive a wide exposure to culture and heritage of Southern part of India.

The tour party will also be visiting Botanical Garden, Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Misty Garden, Padmanabhapuram Palace, Honey and Bee Museum, Gandhi Mandapam, etc. The tour will be ‘flagged in’ on 17 Jan 2012 at Natu Auditorium, Poonch by Commander, 93 Infantry Brigade. The students accompanied by their parents interacted with the army officials and were put to ease as far as security of these children was concerned.

This endeavor will be enlightening experience for the students that will go a long way in building national spirit and also open their minds to new horizons. It will also bring about a great deal of awareness amongst the students from the border villages about the cultural and regional diversity and the unique harmony that binds this great nation.
