SECURITY SITUATION REVIEWED DURING CORE GROUP MEETING AT NAGROTA

NAGROTA: A Core Group Meeting was held at Headquarters of White Knight Corps, at Nagrota today to review the security situation in Jammu region.  The meeting was chaired by Lieutenant General AS Nandal, AVSM, SM, the Security Advisor to J&K Govt for Jammu Region and General Officer Commanding White Knight Corps.  Present in the meeting alongwith Lieutenant General Nandal were DGP (J&K) Dr Kuldeep Khoda and other seinor Army, Police and Civil Administration officials.  
 
These officials included Shri Dilbag Singh, IGP, Jammu, Dr B Srinivas, IG, CID (J&K), Shri AM Muhammed, IG, CRPF, Jammu, Shri RK Bhagat, Additional Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shri Anurag Kumar, Deputy Director SIB (J&K), Shri P P Sharma, Commissioner SB (J&K), Shri AK Atri, DIG Railways (J&K), Shri C Vasudevan, DIG, BSF (J&K) and General Officers Commanding of the formations. 
 
The meeting reviewed the security situation in Jammu region.  The Security Advisor complimented the security forces, intelligence agencies and civil administration for maintaining peace and tranquility in the region and for achieving very high degree of synergy in efficiently handling the challenges of internal security in the Jammu Region.  
 
He emphasized upon the need to be more vigilant in view of the possibility of terrorists attempting to disrupt the existing peace in the region, especially during the winter period due to closure of passes North of Pir Panjal Ranges.  The downward slide in violence should not lull us into complacency.  The Security Advisor reiterated that the Security Forces and Intelligence agencies need to continue to maint a high degree of synergy and professional competency.  He emphasised upon zero tolerance for human rights violations.
