Army organizes tour for Moulvis of Bandipur

BANDIPUR: An Educational tour for Moulvis of Bandipur District, J&K being organized by  3 MADRAS Regiment of 81 Mountain Brigade under the aegis of Headquarters Counter Insurgency Force (Kilo) was  flagged off by Mr Nizamuddin Bhatt, MLA Bandipur and Brigadier Anil Puri, Commander 81 Mountain Brigade in a grand function at Chatarnar play ground amidst dignitaries from political, civil administration, education, Police and Army.

The Tour is first of its kind in J&K which will take 20 elders of Bandipur District, mostly Moulvis to various historical locations like Jammu, Agra, Ajmer and Jaipur covering a period of 12 days. The Tour has been organized with an aim to bring these elders closer to the rich and diverse Indian culture.

These Moulvis carry with them a plethora of cultural heritage and knowledge who will be sharing their experiences with people from other parts of the Country. In the course of the tour, they will be visiting Khawaja, Chisti Dargah, Fatehpur Sikri, Taj Mahal, Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Itmod -Ul- Daulha and will be interacting with Governors of Rajastan and J&K and Army Commanders in Jaipur and Udhampur.  
 This gesture shown by the Army is with a motive to spread the valuable culture and traditions of Kashmir and garner experiences from other places for sharing with children in Bandipur.    A unique feature of the flag off ceremony was that, the security forces (Both Army and Police), Polity and the District administration were all seen as one entity.

The official present were Mr Nizamuddin Bhatt, MLA Bandipur, Brigadier Anil Puri, Commander 81 Mountain Brigade, Col Vinod Negi, Col PS Bajwa, SC, Mr BA Khan, SP Bandipur, Mr GM Brakoob, ADC Bandipur, Professor Ismail Aashna, Mr Mahabali Chauhan, Sarpanch Malangam and Mr Mir Ghulam Rasool, Ex MLA.  

An exhibition football match between Puthushai XI v/s Watpora XI was also held as part of the celebration.
