ARMY ORGANISES TOUR FOR GIRLS OF MENDHAR AND CHHATRAL

RAJOURI: A group of 23 girls from Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Mendhar and Chhatral accompanied by two lady teachers are proceeding on a Educational and Motivational tour to Jallandhar, Chandigarh and Dehradun for a period of 10 days. 
 
The tour for these energetic and intelligent girls is being organized by Counter Insurgency Force Romeo. The children are carrying the message of “Unity in Diversity” to their brethren in other parts of India.  This for the first time that girls from these schools are proceeding on an exclusive tour for girls. 

During the course of the tour, the children will not only be exposed to the rich culture and heritage of our great country but will also witness the development made in recent times. The girl students will visit ‘Science City’ and ‘Verka Milk Plant’ at Jallandhar. In Chandigarh they will visit Rock Garden, Sukhna Lake and Zoo. They will also visit the prestigious training institutes of the country i.e. Indian Military Academy and IAS Academy in Dehradun and Mussoorie respectively.

The tour was flagged off on 21 Dec 11 by Brig HS Shanbhag in presence of civil dignitaries and their parents. While speaking to media Mohd Shayeen Khan a proud parent of a student selected for tour said that his daughter has been reading and speaking about all those places at home ever since she got selected and she is quite excited about the tour. Miss Tahira Akram aged 17 years said “it seems as if all my dreams have come true.  So far I had seen these places only on television or read about them in general knowledge books.  I am looking forward to see them with my eyes.”
