ARMY ORGANISES “KNOW YOUR ARMY” EXHIBITION

NOWSHERA: As part of the ongoing celebration of 40th Anniversary of “Vijay Diwas Week”, Tithwal Brigade today organised a function at Nowshera which comprised a memorial service, in the memory  of martyrs “Know Your Army” exhibition and singing competition for children.
 
The event commenced with paying homage to martyrs, the real heroes of the war, at the Memorial near Jhangar Chowk, followed by a “Know Your Army” exhibition with display of weapons and a presentation was thrilled . 
He said Nazir Ahmed, a student of class 8th at Govt High School, Gugrote said “I have been watching army personnel from a distance for a long time.  But today, I was thrilled to know so much about our army.  

Not only could I see the weapons but also could understand how they work and even touch them.  Now I am determined to join the army and make Nowshera proud of me.”  Many youth of Nowshera echoed the same feeling.

The “Singing Competition” was conducted in two categories, - Solo and Group  Students from various schools participated with great zeal and left the audience spell bound. The winners were given away attractive prizes.  “I was delighted to sing for the first time in front of such a big audience and to get such a fabulous response” said Masum who is resident of Kheri.

The celebration of the Vijay Diwas Week attracted a huge crowd which comprised  people of all ages.  Each individual left with great nostalgia. Brigadier Rajeev Sirohi, Commander, Tithwal Brigade in his address said that the Army is always ready to help me praised the contribution of local populace of Nowshera in all the previous wars. He encouraged the school children to contribute toward attaining peace in the State.
