ARMY ORGANISES FREE MEDICAL CAMP AND PROVIDES FURNITURE AND SPORTS ITEMS TO SCHOOLS IN KHOUR

AKHNOOR: The Army organized a free Medical, Dental & Veterinary Camp at Govt High School, Hamirpur Sidhar, Khour block of Akhnoor Tehsil on 24 Dec 11.  Handing over ceremony of Furniture & Sports items for the benefit of schools was also orgnised during the event.  The free Medical, Dental and Veterinary Camp was inaugurated by Commander,  Sentinal of Chenab Brigade who took the opportunity to reiterate the Indian Army’s pledge of continued support and assistance to the masses.  He reached out to the public and assured them of every assistance from Army.
           
The Medical Camp was equipped with 08 specialist civil and 05 Army doctors including 02 Dental surgeons & 01 veterinary doctors.  A total of 650 patients and 450 animals from far flung areas of the region were provided free medical, dental & veterinary benefits.

The aim of the Camp was to spread awareness about hygiene and healthcare to enable the people of Khour block to lead a healthy life as also to reiterate the Army’s promise of service before self. The handing over ceremony of Furniture and Sports items further bolster Army’s promise of its dedication in providing all necessary assistance to the budding talent of remote area for the upliftment of schools standard as well as providing modern platform to the students to enable them to compete with their urban counterparts. The Chief Guest also addressed the local population including school teachers and students.

The school authorities and villagers had requested Army for organizing a free medical camp and provision of Furniture and Sports items for the benefit of students. Mr Tarsem Singh, Sarpanch of Hamirpur village appreciated the Army for its efforts in the social upliftment of the society. The local population wholeheartedly supported and participated in the camp and requested for such camps in near future.
