ARMY DISTRIBUTES FURNITURE TO GOVT GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL, BUDHAL

RAJOURI:  In an endeavour to provide an impetus to education facilities in far flung areas, Army distributed furniture items to Government Girls High School, Budhal. The furniture items were distributed by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Samote under the aegis of Uniform Force as part of the ‘Sadbhavana’ activities.

The Armed forces have been at the forefront of carrying out development works in underprivileged areas of the state. The Government Girls High School Budhal is the only girls school which is imparting education to more than 315 girl students living in Budhal and its adjoining areas. The school did not have adequate furniture to cater for the seating facility to all the students or nor had adequate funds to purchase the furniture for the school. Hence, army authorities at Samote went about to do the needful for the students.

During welcome address army officials said that the school authorities and the villagers in the area approached the unit with a requisition of providing assistance and seating facilities for their students. Acceding to their request army provided the furniture items and distributed to the Government Girls High School, Budhal for the betterment in educational standards of underprivileged students in the remote area.

On the occasion, Officiating Commanding Officer of the Battalion handed over the furniture items to the Principal of Government Girls High School, Budhal. The villagers and the School authorities appreciated the efforts of the Army in contributing furniture items to the school for overcoming the shortage of seating facilities and smooth conduct of their studies.

The distribution function was attended by a large gathering of villagers and other prominent persons of the area. A small cultural programme was presented by the students of Govt Girls High School Budhal during the occasion.

One of the students remarked “It is the army who is our saviour in these far flung areas and we are all thankful to them for looking after us and being with us throughout”.  Later even the parents of students expressed their gratitude for the gesture in lookafter the educational needs of their wards.
