DODA:   A Welding Course was conducted by  Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Headquarters  Sector Rashtriya Rifles at Doda as a part of ‘Civic Action’ under “Operation Sadhbhavana”. The course which was conducted from  05-17 March trained 13 local unemployed youth of Doda to enable them to undertake self employment.  The students were given an opportunity to undergo practical job work during the course. 

Such an initiative by Army will greatly help in generating employment in the area and at the same time act as a powerful tool for bringing the people and the army closer to each other since time and again the army has proven to be a friend and benefactor of the local populace.

The local populace has expressed their gratitude towards Army for their concerted efforts in providing an opportunity to the youth of Doda in attaining skills necessary for generating self employment.


ZARADI: The children of Govt Middle School, Zaradi, an insurgency affected village, were provided with study materials under Op Sadbhavana, on 17 Mar 2012 by 12 Rashtriya Rifles (GRENADIERS).  Numerous stationery items like Water proof  school bags,registers, notebooks, geometry boxes, metallic clipboards, steelscales, attendance registers and other study material were provided as part of this project to more than 150 students.  
The occasion was attended by the School Headmaster, other staff and prominent civilians who expressed their appreciation for this thoughtful gesture as part of Operation Sadhbhavana. The event was a special occasion for the children who until then did not have adequate amenities in the school.  The new study materials and teaching aids were received with great enthusiasm both by the teachers and students.  
This gesture as part of Operation Sadhbhavana was yet another step taken by the Army towards improving the standard of education of students who are studying in Govt Middle School, Zaradi.


  UDHAMPUR: As a part of its Golden Jubilee Celebrations, 47 Air Defence Regiment  conducted a blood donation camp on the 17th & 18th March 2012 at the Unit premises in coordination with Government District Hospital, Udhampur.

Raised on 1st April, 1962 at Namkum, Ranchi, the Unit has been serving
  the nation in times of peace and war in the highest traditions of the Indian Army. The Unit has proved its mettle in every major battle the country has fought since its raising. The unit has also contributed tremendously in maintaining internal security of the country and provided relief during various natural calamities and other disturbances in internal peace.

Reiterating its commitment to the nation, the blood donation camp was
  conducted to donate life saving blood for the fellow countrymen in keeping with the ethos of the Army. About 250 units of blood were collected from all ranks of the regiment and donated to District Hospital, Udhampur. 
The Commanding Officer Colonel Aman Puri inaugurated the camp by donating a unit of blood himself. Dr Chandra Prakash, Superintendent District Hospital, Udhampur and his team members thanked the Unit for the magnanimous donations of the much needed life saving blood.
